Non 12 Step Rehabs

Ninety-nine percent of all alcohol and drug treatment centers are based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. I see several problems with the 12 steps having such a monopoly on the rehab industry. First of all the 12 steps are an aftercare program, meaning they all about keeping people clean and sober. Even they admit they are there to “keep people sober, not get people sober”. Non 12 step rehabs have evolved away into a better understanding of treatment. Treatment should be about therapy and teaching alcoholics and addicts about the problem.
