One would think that substance abuse is so bad that things cannot get worse. Unfortunately they can. There are many people out there who have a problem of mental illness coupled with substance abuse. A common example is drug addiction and depression. Usually, one of the two conditions is treatable and the other is very resistant to medicines/drugs which created a bigger mess. Such a condition is referred to as Dual Diagnosis. Dual diagnosis rehab treatment centers can be a challenge as many drug rehab centers do not take patients with mental illness and many mental illness clinics do not take substance abuse patients.
